They're easier than you think!
Windows and doors are much easier than they might first appear. After you've cut them out of the mission wall, lay the wall on top of a piece of paper. Carefully trace the window or door onto the paper using a pencil. You can then use markers to draw in the detail. Cut out the window or door, leaving at least 1/2” extra around the edges. Then use a glue stick or white glue to secure the window or door to the inside of the Mission.
Tip: Want to make your window detail really nice? Scan the traced pattern into your computer. Take a photograph of a window from the internet — or one you might have from a tour of the mission — and use the “Clip”, “Paste” and “Scale” tools in photo or image editing software to size the image to match the size of your scanned pattern. Then just print the image and trim and glue as described above!
You can also use your printer and photo editing software to create stucco patterns that can be glued to the outside of your mission walls.
